ReShare is the clothing collection initiative of the Salvation Army (Leger des Heils) in the Netherlands. Through hundreds of red containers across the country, people can donate clothing and textiles to support people in need and contribute to sustainability.
ReShare collects around 26 million kilos of textiles annually through donation containers, collection points, and partner organizations. Donated items are sorted into:
👕 Reusable clothing → Distributed to people in crisis or sold affordably in ReShare Stores across Dutch cities.
♻️ Non-reusable textiles → Recycled into raw materials for new products.
The initiative has a dual mission:
Social – Helping vulnerable individuals and families who lack clothing or resources.
Sustainable – Preventing textiles from ending up as waste and promoting circular use of materials.
By donating, contributors directly support the Salvation Army’s social projects, including homeless care, poverty relief, and emergency aid.
