We specialize in Decoden workshops, a playful and creative Japanese art form where everyday objects are transformed into adorable, dessert-like masterpieces using fake whipped cream, colourful charms, gems, and glitter.
The term Decoden comes from “Decorate DenWa,” meaning “decorate mobile phone” in Japanese. Traditionally, Decoden involves covering phone cases with realistic-looking plastic cream to resemble cake icing, then decorating them with a mix of charms, jewels, sprinkles, and sparkle. But the fun doesn’t stop at phone cases—you can Decoden nearly anything!
At our workshop, you'll have the chance to choose from four unique objects to decorate, letting your creativity run wild in a relaxed and joyful setting. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a total beginner, we promise a fun-filled experience that’s equal parts creative, social, and sparkly!
Workshops are held on the second Sunday of every month at 1:30 PM and typically last 2 to 3 hours, depending on the item you choose to decorate. All equipment, materials, and step-by-step instructions are included, so you don’t need to bring anything except a bag to carry your artwork home. The session begins with a short introduction, after which you'll select your charms and coloured creams. You’ll first plan your design on paper, and once you’re happy with it, you’ll start crafting your piece and decorating it with your chosen charms. Once your creation is complete, we’ll pack it in a box for you to take home. Please note that drying takes about 2–3 days.
This workshop is designed to be a fun and relaxing afternoon of hands-on art and craft, perfect for anyone who enjoys creating and connecting. Expect plenty of laughs, chats, and creativity in a friendly environment, all set to an excellent soundtrack. While aprons and gloves are provided, we recommend wearing old or dark-coloured clothes, as the decoden cream may stain.
